🖥️ Cluster Architecture & Node Inventory

The homelab operates a high-availability 3-node Proxmox VE cluster named clusterfuck (running PVE 9.2.11) backed by a dedicated Proxmox Backup Server (PBS).

🏛️ Compute & HA Placement Strategy

  • Primary Compute & Storage Powerhouse (PVE-1): With 16 vCPUs (Intel i7-10700) and 32 GB RAM alongside the 16TB ZFS tank array, PVE-1 hosts all primary active compute workloads, media stacks, and Docker containers under normal operations.
  • High-Availability Standby & Failover (PVE-2 & PVE-3): Both nodes (AMD Ryzen Embedded R2314, 4 vCPUs, 16 GB RAM each) participate in cluster quorum and Proxmox HA (pve-ha-crm). In the event of maintenance or hardware failover on PVE-1, HA automatically restarts or migrates workloads across PVE-2 and PVE-3.
